The search function brings up all the SVR-related posts.

Nice, glad they are making these, some years ago I was lucky to score a number of genuine vintage Renaulds from the 60s, my favorite sunglasses.

I wonder why the leading section of the flooring was replaced all those years ago?

It is one of my thousand pictures I shoot during that special week spent in Italy in March 2017…

Here is another one with #3586 on the same spot with my friend Iain Tyrrell and Giampaolo Dallara, who was so excited to wait for his Miura P400 undergoing full restoration by Polo Storico.

I had organised to meet Dallara, Gandini as the last time in september 2016 we did the 1st come back of The Italian Job Miura in the Alps scenes since the movie recorded in 1968.

The whole Team was so thrilled to live these experiences… and our guests so glad to share so many stories !

    Agreed, important shoot.

BTW the image was on Instagram just the way you see it above.

Meanwhile, any thoughts on why the front section of the flooring of the very original 4245 is said to have been replaced according to Iain Tyrell as asked above?

    Iain's reply :

The folded section where the front section meets the cabin floor is not original, and there are some patches welded here and there which were rust repairs, certainly done many years ago. It’s too badly damaged to make beautiful. This area is the biggest rust area on a Miura, and it is not unusual to find this. It is the only enclosed “box section” on the whole frame. Hope that answers it.

Hello guys. I saw an article about a couple of 'barn find' cars, including a Miura S. Does anyone know if ex Onassis #3829 Miura S is completed with the restoration?

    Mr @joe sackey any ideas?

    Thank you.

Mr. Tyrell might want to research this issue a bit further before replacing or making a new one. The P400 front floor section indeed had three longitudinal beads rolled into it for strength as he indicates in the film clip. However I believe this was changed for the S, and the front floor for the S was flat with no beads rolled into it. The holes for gas tank plug, etc. were the same though. This yellow Miura he is restoring is an S so that front section should be flat. Although there may be some patches on that floor, I believe the front section is indeed original.

    Here is Iain's response….

Thanks for your feedback. I do these videos because I enjoy them, and I do them in one take normally. Under those circumstances, I hope I can be allowed the odd mistake. However, I would be a brave man indeed to say that the change was made at precisely the time the S came out. I know this because I have seen early S’s with the swaged floors also. The nature of hand-built cars. Original or not, it’s beyond repair, and will be replaced, along with the inner (swaged) panel behind it. Greetings from the UK in these very strange times.

Thanks for the response. I was not trying to be critical of his videos...in fact, I enjoy them very much! I was just trying to be helpful.
