It happened to me as well, one of the scariest moments ever! About 5 years ago I was at WOT on the autostrada near Bologna in 4th, lifted my foot off the pedal because of traffic ahead and nothing happened - I turned off the ignition key, then put in neutral and braked - started the car again while still rolling and all was good - but still sticky with a 3 second lag of deceleration . Drove to mechanic slowly - Brevaglieri replaced my entire throttle cable - it was rusty. Do not drive the car if the throttle does not return as it should. In my case there was not prior warning.

Agreed. I had a BB512 throttle cable decide to hang up at half throttle once in Toronto traffic. Eye opening. 40 year old braided steel throttle cables can fray inside the tube.

It ended up being an issue with the throttle linkage getting caught on the intake clamp. I adjusted the intake hose back and re-tightened the intake clamp and it has enough clearance now!

I have added another new QV DD to the Register.
Pictured by my good friend Jeroen Veeneman at the ILOC meeting Colmar-Berg, Luxembourg, September 1988.
This car was owned by a Dutchman living in Belgium, on plates GCC-534.
    VIN still unknown, anybody?

What was original on the 5000S valve covers, painted solid wrinkle finish or to have the Lamborghini scrip in silver. Most seem to have the scrip showing so it is making me wonder. Anyone have some engine shots from when the car was new?

    Cheers Jim

All-black wrinkle, many many people filed the script to make it visible but that's not original, easiest mod to make.

Several years ago, I soda blasted the failing wrinkle finish on my valve covers.

I sent the cleaned covers to a powder coater who could replicate the wrinkle finish.

I opted to sand the wrinkle finish from the Lamborghini script .

Thanks Joe. I left them all wrinkle.

What is the correct finish for the water pipes? I believe they should be a semi gloss black? Also were the fuel lines rubber or steel braided?

    Cheers Jim

Think the roof lights will add drag to this very aerodynamic car ! :D

The Countach defies logic in a wind tunnel. The light bar probably lowers the drag coefficient. Haha

The Countach is, as one journalist put it, as aerodynamic as a barn door.

He never sat in the car, those are actors in a staged photo for a calendar, that Countach belonged to a fried of mine, Bianco/Rosso, they wrapped the black part of the car, when they removed the black film it ruined the white paint.
