In the high end of the boat/yacht market, fines are very common, also in the industrial and comersial real estate, fines are common, lots of reasons why projects are late, but as you stated reg designing a car from a blank sheet of paper,if you can not, perhaps its time to find another source of inncome, Iow after restoring numerous Countaches, there must be a poss time frame wich can be followed, reg my car beeing subject to a high end resto? Not now,but poss at some point, Dugan would for shure be on the top of my list.

    Very well stated.

The more people who think this way about the cars, the better future they collectively have.

Once again, the classic car restoration business is not the boat business, nor is it the commercial real estate business, so we shouldn’t expect the terms & conditions of the latter two to transfer.

As regards timeframes, every project is agreed with different terms, some owners have short time goals, others take a more open-ended approach perhaps so they can be part of the process and spread payments over a longer period, so there isn’t a basic standard completion period for Countach restorations.

I never realised the Fosters Countach had a second pair of side repeaters on the rear.

You will have a much better bond with the car as a result. If you enjoy the process it can be very rewarding.

Thanks, Chris. You’re certainly one of the few that can appreciate the process.

Presumably a post-1985 regulation, as the red QV in the October 1985 edition of Modern Motor did not have them.

I believe that’s correct but I’m in Africa where I can’t access my archives to be sure.

No Countach Downdrafts here but I did come across a Gullwing!

It’s definitely high on the list. Certainly the most radically beautiful and nothing has come close since.

    Neat.

I haven’t seen this yet as I’m still in Accra, thanks for sharing, great job Automobile magazine, they put the car through it’s paces which was a delight to see & hear. I’ve always thought that published works are a great way to share the passion & enthusiasm that these cars evoke so I was happy to hand over the keys.

I’ll read the magazine next week, meanwhile this is a nice way to cap off the year and ring in 2020.

Seeing an article like this reminds me of my excitement in the 80’s when a Countach article was published.

No kidding! I used to look for any magazine on the rack back in the late-70’s and 80’s with ANY Countach on the cover! :)
